specific remedies:
» bee sting:
apply paste of baking soda to skin surrounding area of sting
rub raw sliced onion to area of sting
apply meat tenderizer or papain mixed with water on cotton ball directly to sting (Bricklin, p. 289)
apply apple cider vinegar directly into sting (Bricklin, p. 289)
» mosquito bites:
dip a piece of cotton in apple cider vinegar and apply to bite and hold with bandage (Bricklin, p. 282)
mix together a dab of butter or margarine and a pinch of salt and rub into mosquito bite (Bricklin, p. 283)
dampen area of bite with water and apply Vitamin C crystals directly and let dry (Bricklin, p. 284)
apply peppermint essential oil undiluted to area of bite (Shefi)
» mosquito repellent:
apply garlic powder or squeezed raw garlic juice to body before going into infested area (Shefi)
increase Vitamin B-complex supplements (especially B 12) before going into infested area (Bricklin, p. 285)
hang a bouquet of dried tomato plant leaves in the room to prevent mosquitoes, spiders, and flies (Bricklin, pp. 285-286)
» tick bites :
apply Vitamin E oil directly to bite (Bricklin, p. 284)
» scorpion sting :
mash raw garlic and apply to the bite. Also eat 2-4 cloves for garlic per day (Butt and Bloomfield, p. 123)
slice onion thin and saute, then put in gauze and apply to the site of the bite (Shefi)
» snake bite, non-poisonous:
mash raw eggplant and apply to bite (Butt and Bloomfield, p. 122)
