Adenophora and Ophiopogon C. = Sha Shen Mai Men Dong Tang = "Glehnia and Ophiopogonis Decoction"

signs and symptoms: Dry throat, thirst, hacking cough with scanty sputum.
tongue and pulse: red tongue with little coating.
indications: Lung Dryness. With the appropriate presentation, may be used in conditions conventionally diagnosed as cough, bronchitis, and the final stage of infantile measles.
cautions and contraindications: This formula contains Yin tonifying herbs and should therefore be used with caution in patients with Spleen and Stomach Xu (Deficiency).
ingredients: dosage for two days:
» 10 grams: dolichos (bian dou).
» 9 grams: trichosanthes root (tian hua fen).
» 6 grams: adenophora (nan sha shen), ophiopogon (mai men dong), polygonatum (yu zhu), morus leaf (sang ye).
» 3 grams: licorice (gan cao).
