Shu Stream, Wood and Dispersion point of the Foot Tai Yang (Bladder) channel
location: Proximal to the head of the 5th metatarsal at the junction of the red and white skin.
actions: pacifies the Shen; dispels Wind and clears Heat; drains Shi (Excess); detoxifies the whole body; clears the head; benefits vision; effects prostate gland; relaxes muscles and tendons; invigorates the collateral vessels
indications: malaria; fever; aversion to wind and cold; pannus; seizures; mental illness; mania; hysteria; disorientation; vertigo; dizziness; lightheadedness; headache, esp. severe occipital headache; deafness; blurred vision; painful inflammation of the medial canthus; excessive tearing; enterocolitis; jaundice; dysentery; diarrhea; hemorrhoids; stiff neck; back pain, esp. acute lumbar pain; sciatica; pain in the posterior aspect of the lower extremities; abscesses
needle technique: perpendicular insertion, 0.3 - 0.5 cun
moxa: 3 - 7 cones of direct moxa; 5 - 10 minutes of indirect moxa with a pole
