INDUSTRIOUS/OVERFOCUSED (PHALLIC):
etiology: Child experiences lack of recognition or acceptance; must continually prove themselves, attempting to exceed previous accomplishment; World is a battlefield full of challenges and tests.
characteristics: Productive, desires achievement and perfection, chooses action in most situations; logical, serious, fear of spontaneity; life is a problem to be solved, may be sexually active but not satisfied.
physical appearance: Proportionate and integrated, well coordinated, alive; slight constant tension, ready for action; energy good but may not flow spontaneously; voice strong and solid, breath deep; movement quick and energetic.
strengths: Successful, fast worker, responsible, self confident, exciting, achieves goals.
life orientation: "I can be free if I do not want." Cannot open his or her heart. (Same as Expressive/Clinging)
