• Aesculus hippocastanum
: for inguinal hernias
• Aurum metallicum: pressure in abdominal ring as if hernia would protrude while sitting; protrusion of inguinal hernia with great cramp-like pain; inguinal hernia in children if others fail
• Belladonna: strangulated hernia; intense local inflammation; distention of abdomen neither hard or painful
• Calcarea carbonica: a leading remedy; start treatment with it, will cure most cases; where walls of abdomen are thin and truss cannot be worn; infantile hernia
• Cocculus indicus: incarcerated hernia; umbilical hernia; protrusion takes place slowly as if from paralytic state of abdominal ring; when nux-v. and lyc. fail
• Coffea: strangulated inguinal hernia
• Colocynthis: pain in groin; on pressure sensation as if hernia would recede
• Cubeba: femoral hernia
• Granatum: inguinal, umbilical hernia
• Lachesis: hernia strangulated, sloughing; gangrene threatens strangulated hernia; very sensitive
• Lycopodium: umbilical hernias, right-sided, abdominal distention with rumbling of gas; femoral hernia
