Diagnoses

Definition and Etiology

note: also known as Cold-Painful Bi
conventional diagnoses: arthritis
possible etiology: exposure to Cold and Damp; Yang Xu (Deficiency)

Signs and Symptoms

pulse: deep, wiry, tense
tongue: thin white coating
clinical manifestations: fixed joint pain, usually without inflammation, better from warmth and worse from cold; passive range of motion reduced

Course and Prognosis

principle of treatment: disperse cold; invigorate Qi and Xue (Blood); warm the Yang
