Bupleurum and Rehmannia C. = Chai Hu Qing Gan Tang = "Bupleurum Decoction to Clear the Liver"

signs and symptoms: Sores on the head, headache, swollen lymph nodes below the jaw, bad breath, tinnitus, hearing loss, irritability, insomnia, dark urine; weakness, thin build.
tongue and pulse: red tongue, and wiry, rapid pulse.
indications: Fire Toxin. With the appropriate presentation, may be used in conditions conventionally diagnosed as lymphadenitis, chronic tonsillitis, skin diseases, measles, pleurisy, or for improvement of the physical condition in those with a delicate constitution and thin build.
cautions and contraindications:
ingredients: dosage for one day:
» 2 grams: bupleurum (chai hu).
» 1.5 grams: trichosanthes root (tian hua fen), phellodendron (huang bai), platycodon (jie geng), Chinese angelica (tang kuei) (dang gui), rehmannia (di huang), cnidium (chuan xiong), scute (huang qin), forsythia (lian qiao), licorice (gan cao), mentha (bo he), peony (shao yao), coptis (huang lian), gardenia (zhi zi), arctium (niu bang zi).
