location: 1 cun directly above the middle of the eyebrow.

actions: eliminates Wind; dispels Cold; clears Heat; clears the vision; brightens the eyes; invigorates Qi circulation; stops pain

indications: frontal headache; lightheadedness; trigeminal neuralgia; supraorbital neuralgia; facial spasm or paralysis; ptosis; eye diseases; eyes red, swollen and painful; conjunctivitis; myopia; blurred vision; photophobia; twitching eyelid; lacrimation; trigeminal neuralgia; nausea

needle technique: perpendicular insertion, 0.2 - 0.3 cun, or oblique insertion, 0.3 - 1.0 cun, angled downward, left or right, may thread to yu yao, UB-2 or TW-23, producing distension in forehead, spreading to vertex

moxa: 2 - 3 cones of direct moxa; 5 - 10 minutes of indirect moxa with a pole

combinations:

» with St-2, qian zheng and St-4 or joined to UB-2 or TW-23, for facial paralysis (Shanghai, p. 146);

» with UB-2, LI-4, Kd-7 for diplopia (Shanghai, p. 146);

» with tai yang, St-8 and GB-20 for ptosis (Shanghai, p. 146);
