location: at the veins on the underside of the tongue on either side of the frenulum, jin jin on left and yu ye on right

actions: generate fluid by dispelling Heat, esp. Heat in the Xue (Blood), and producing saliva
indications: painful, swollen tongue; mouth sores; aphasia; throat block; vomiting; diarrhea
needle technique: have patient touch tip of tongue to roof of mouth to expose points; bleed with three-edged or thick gauge needle
combinations:
» with CV-24 treats wasting combined with thirst (Ellis, et al, 1988, p. 400)
» bleeding gums: (1) needle LI-4 and LI-10; (2) needle St-44 and Kd-3; (3); needle GV-16, CV-24 and St-6; (4) with acute condition and pronounced Heat, needle and bleed a few drops from jin jin, yu yeh, and LI-1; or, with a chronic condition, apply seven cones of direct moxa, green bean size, to St-6 and CV-24, daily for a few days (So, 1987, p. 159)
