definition

image: Close your eyes. Breathe in and out three times. Let your sense of open fantasy take your thoughts far from your everyday concerns, yet let your awareness continue to float lightly around the areas of concern that have held your mind and feelings prisoner for the last little while. Let yourself relax and remember that there is nothing wrong with letting yourself know that you have had a loss. That some feeling thing or person is now gone from your life. Allow yourself to breathe in and out three more times, each time breathing in the strength of self forgiving light and letting go the great clouds of darkness and remorse, through each exhale. Let the image of your loss arise before the inner eye of your mind and study that bereavement closely, allowing yourself to really know the full extent of what that loss means to you as a human being. Realize that some parts of what will be missing are, in an ultimate sense, truly unimportant to you and unexpectedly, that those things that are of lasting value and concern, such as being a reflection of your own love and veneration, remains forever. Allow the surprise of that fresh understanding to wash through you and tingle into your feelings of grief and leaven them. Take the revelation a step farther. Know that your loss is real and that you will never forget but also know, that your deep love of what has been lost, is what is most important to you; and that some forms of grieving may enhance that love, while other forms may stifle it. Let yourself take a moment to ponder that Idea, then begin to take internal actions to honor both your grief and your love for the object of that grief. Let yourself express, with every movement of your body, every beat of your heart and every shift in the tone of your voice, every tear in your eye, every color that you see, every sound that you hear: "I love you and I let you go." Feel yourself letting go with love. Let yourself savor the sweetness in the sad even though it does not and can not contradict the sadness. Merely change it and make it bearable in the full light the ongoing and indestructible love that is yours forever. Let yourself breathe in and out three more times, with each breath increasing your awareness and appreciation of that immortal love, then allow your eyes to slowly open once again. (Chavez)
