psychospiritual associated point of the Pi (Spleen)
location: 3 cun lateral to the lower border of the spinous process of T-11, level with GV-6.
actions: regulates, strengthens and mobilizes Spleen Qi and Yang; regulates the Stomach Qi; transforms Dampness and Damp-Heat; descends Rebellious Qi
indications: afraid of cold; fatigue; eyes yellow; insatiable thirst; lack of appetite; nausea; difficulty swallowing; vomiting; belching; regurgitation; epigastric and abdominal pain and distension; gastritis; Middle Warmer wasting and thirsting syndrome (diabetes mellitus); jaundice; hepatitis; cholecystitis; borborygmi; flatulence; diarrhea; urine dark yellow; localized edema; intercostal neuralgia; back pain; rheumatism
needle technique: oblique insertion, 0.3 - 0.5 cun
moxa: 3-7 cones of direct moxa; 5 - 15 minutes of indirect moxa with a pole
combinations:
