tai yi = supreme unity; bigger yi (a celestial stem)
location: 2 cun lateral to the anterior midline of the abdomen Xia Guan (CV-10), 2 cun above the umbilicus.
actions: clears the Heart and sedates the Shen; invigorates the Spleen and harmonizes the Middle Warmer
indications: epilepsy; mania; insanity; hysteria; dysphoria; beriberi; indigestion; stomach pain; intestinal pain and distension; hernia; loose stools; enuresis
needle technique: perpendicular insertion, 0.7 - 1.0 cun, producing a local sensation of soreness and distension, sometimes spreading throughout side of abdomen
moxa: 5 - 10 cones of direct moxa; 10 - 20 minutes of indirect moxibustion with a pole
