Chiang-huo and Turmeric F. = Chuan Bi Tang = "Remove Painful Obstruction Decoction from Selected Formulas"

signs and symptoms: Generalized sensation of heaviness in the body, neck spasms, stiffness in the neck, shoulder, and upper back, numbness or muscular spasms in the extremities, limited joint mobility.
tongue and pulse: white tongue coating, and moderate pulse.
indications: Wind-Cold-Damp Bi Syndrome with Qi Xu (Deficiency). With the appropriate presentation, may be used in conditions conventionally diagnosed as muscular pain, shoulder bursitis, wrist tendinitis, and lumbago.
cautions and contraindications:
ingredients: dosage for two days:
» 9 grams: astragalus (huang qi).
» 6 grams: notopterygium (chiang huo), turmeric (jiang huang), Chinese angelica (tang kuei) (dang gui), red peony (chi shao yao), siler (fang feng).
» 3 grams: fresh ginger (sheng jiang), licorice (gan cao), jujube (da zao).
