Tang Kuei and Ginseng Eight C. = Ba Zhen Tang = "Eight-Treasure Decoction"

signs and symptoms: Fatigue, sallow complexion, thirst, palpitations, anxiety, reduced appetite, shortness of breath, lower abdominal distention, irregular menstruation, lightheadedness, anemia.
tongue and pulse: pale tongue with a white coating, and a pulse which is thin and frail or large, deficient, and without strength.
indications: Qi and Xue (Blood) Xu (Deficiency). With the appropriate presentation, this formula may be used in treating conditions conventionally diagnosed as weakness during convalescence, anemia, midline pain in women, menstrual irregularity, and circulatory ailments.
cautions and contraindications:
ingredients: dosage for two days:
» 9 grams: prepared rehmannia (shu di huang), white atractylodes (bai zhu), Chinese angelica (tang kuei) (dang gui), poria (fu ling).
» 6 grams: ginseng (ren shen), white peony (bai shao yao), cnidium (chuan xiong).
» 3 grams: honey-baked licorice (zhi gan cao), jujube (da zao).
» 1 gram: fresh ginger (sheng jiang).
