signs and symptoms: Melancholia, depression or sullenness, easily frightened, headaches, vertigo, loss of appetite, alternating chills and fever, vomiting, abdominal pain, abdominal tumor
tongue and pulse: pale tongue with weak, wiry pulse.
indications: Liver Qi Stagnation. With the appropriate presentation, may be used in conditions conventionally diagnosed as menopausal depression, hysteria, neurasthenia, prepartum and postpartum depression, amenorrhea, melena.
cautions and contraindications:
ingredients: dosage for one day:
» 4 grams: cyperus (xiang fu).
» 3 grams: lindera (wu yao), citrus (chen pi).
» 1.5 grams: ginger (gan jiang), perilla (zi su ye).
» 1 gram: licorice (gan cao).
