image: Close your eyes. Breathe in and out three times deeply. Let yourself sink gratefully down into the deepest level of your unconscious, and as you relax let the warmth of the sun and the smell of salt spray begin to surround you and permeate the senses. Find yourself, to your intense surprise, on an island in the midst of an ocean of unhappiness and pain. It is a beautiful Island that pleases you greatly and you wonder how it could be surrounded with so much that you could never like. Settle down upon the island beach and contemplate this question. And as you do so, notice that this particular island, like so many that you have heard of, is in fact a mountain, standing above the deep. A volcanic peak, with its roots below the ocean floor. you laugh a little as the thought strikes you, an eruption of good, from out of the depths of ill. The more you think about it, the funnier the idea seems to you. Allow your mind to muse upon the concept of eruption and realize that even eruptions upon the skin must have a reason. Laying upon a beach, it is easy for you to drift into another state of mind. Just as the melted rock flows beneath the skin of the Earth which lies beneath the sea and may circulate anywhere and vent wherever it may choose, perhaps the fluids that vent and harden at your pores might circulate and vent elsewhere and not harden and be washed away. Let yourself imagine that flow understanding that venting in eruptions represents an overload and picture the ways that the flow may exit from your body without eruption upon your skin. It is surprising that this can be done so easily yet the overload is indeed unnecessary. Discover that lack of necessity in the heat of your liver and laugh nearly out loud at the aptness of a volcano metaphor. Then allow your eyes to slowly open once again. (Chavez)
