Six Major Herbs F. = Liu Jun Zi Tang = "Six-Gentleman Decoction"

signs and symptoms: Gastrointestinal weakness, loss of appetite, nausea or vomiting, chest and abdominal distention, loose stools, coughing of copious, thin, white sputum, fatigue, cold arms and legs.
tongue and pulse: pale tongue with white greasy coating, soft and weak pulse.
indications: Spleen Qi Xu (Deficiency) and Phlegm. With the appropriate presentation, this formula may be used in treating conditions conventionally diagnosed as loss of appetite, nervous exhaustion, chronic gastritis, gastric distention, gastric ulcer, gastric cancer, indigestion, chronic peritonitis, vomiting, and toxemia of pregnancy.
cautions and contraindications: Modify in cases with high fever, Xu (Deficiency) Heat, or with irritability, thirst, and constipation. Contraindicated for cases with cough due to Lung Yin Xu (Deficiency).
ingredients: dosage for two days:
» 6 grams: ginseng (ren shen), white atractylodes (bai zhu), poria (fu ling), pinellia (ban xia).
» 3 grams: citrus peel (chen pi), honey-baked licorice (zhi gan cao).
