standard: 1.6-4.2 g/dl
healthy: 2.3-3.7 g/dl
conditions that can exhibit an increase in total globulin:
Hypochlorhydria; Hepatitis/liver disorders; Parasites; Rheumatoid arthritis; Some viral and bacterial infections; Tissue damage (with decreased albumin levels).
In general, alpha 1 globulins are increased with destructive activities; alpha 2, beta, and gamma globulins are increased with inflammation.
