location: Between the ribs at the medial end of the 3rd intercostal space, approximately 2 cun lateral to the midline.
actions: resurrects the Spirit (Worsley); revitalizes the sense of self; pacifies the Shen; opens and releases the chest; clears Heat; reverses Rebellious Qi; disperses swelling; tonifies the Kidney
indications: depression; anxiety; suspicion; restlessness; insomnia; melancholy felt in the chest; amnesia; nasal obstruction; anorexia; vomiting; cough; bronchitis; pleurisy; dyspnea; asthma; angina, particularly upon exertion; fullness and distension in the chest and lateral costal region; mastitis; hypochondriac pain; forearm neuralgia
needle technique: perpendicular or oblique insertion, 0.2 - 0.4 cun; caution: avoid deep insertion
moxa: 3 - 5 cones of direct moxa; 5 - 10 minutes of indirect moxa with a pole
