Fen Xiao Tang = "Separate and Reduce Decoction"

signs and symptoms: Abdominal fullness and drum-like distention, belching, heartburn, ascites, scanty, yellow urine, constipation or insufficient stools, gas in the intestines.
tongue and pulse: Greasy tongue coat, slippery pulse.
indications: Stagnant Phlegm in the Middle Warmer. With the appropriate presentation, may be used in conditions conventionally diagnosed as peritonitis, ascites, tympanites (gas in the intestines), cirrhosis, and nephritis.
cautions and contraindications: Contraindicated for patients with a delicate constitution and swelling. Use with caution during pregnancy.
ingredients: dosage for one day:
» .5 grams: white atractylodes (bai zhu), red atractylodes (cang zhu), poria (fu ling).
» 2 grams: magnolia bark (hou po), alisma (ze xie), cyperus (xiang fu), citrus (chen pi), polyporus (zhu ling).
» 1 gram: cardamon (sha ren), juncus (deng xin cao), chih-shih (zhi shi), saussurea (mu xiang), areca peel (da fu pi), fresh ginger (sheng jiang).
