Pistacia toxidrome

Turpentine-like toxidrome: respiratory problems due to inhalation; sensitization reaction with pruritus, erythema, vesicular eruptions, or a weeping eczema. Oropharyngitis occurs following excessive intake; stomach irritation follows with vomiting, colic, and diarrhea.
Systemic effects of overdose include headache, excitement, anxiety, anorexia, vertigo, giddiness, somnolence, delirium, and mental confusion. Other effects include tinnitus, bronchitis, gastritis, irregular thready pulse, pulmonary edema, loss of consciousness and coma. Ocular signs include dilated and non-reactive pupils, blepharospasm, conjunctivitis, and edema. In cases of renal irritation, patients present with strangury and hematuria. Urinalysis indicates hematuria, albuminuria, and glycosuria (von Oettingen, p. 586)
