Coix C. = Yi Yi Ren Tang = "Coicis Decoction from the Enlightened Physicians"

signs and symptoms: Swelling and pain in the arms and legs, and numbness and difficulty in moving the joints, usually with sensations of fever. Commonly used for pain and swelling of the joints that is becoming chronic. Also applicable for internal therapy during treatment for venereal warts.
tongue and pulse:
indications: Swollen joints with Xue (Blood) Dryness. With the appropriate presentation, may be used in conditions conventionally diagnosed as polyrheumatism, muscular rheumatism, hepatitis, pulmonary edema, and pleurisy.
cautions and contraindications:
ingredients: dosage for one day:
» 8 grams: coix (yi yi ren).
» 4 grams: ephedra (ma huang), red atractylodes (cang zhu), Chinese angelica (tang kuei) dang gui).
» 3 grams: white peony (bai shao yao), cinnamon twig (gui zhi).
» 2 grams: honey-baked licorice (zhi gan cao).
