signs and symptoms: Acne and boils on the face and head, facial reddening, scanty urination, constipation.
tongue and pulse: Tense pulse.
indications: Internal Heat. With the appropriate presentation, may be used in conditions conventionally diagnosed as head and facial boils, vesicles, eczema, facial flushing, conjunctivitis, red nose, otitis media, and gingivitis.
cautions and contraindications:
ingredients: dosage for one day:
» 3 grams: cnidium (chuan xiong), angelica (bai zhi), coix (yi yi ren), scute (huang qin), platycodon (jie geng), gardenia (zhi zi), forsythia (lian qiao), siler (fang feng).
» 1.5 grams: schizonepeta (jing jie), chih-shih (zhi shi), coptis (huang lian), licorice (gan cao), mentha (bo he).
