actions: expel Wind; reduce Food Stagnation; resolve Dampness; expel parasites; facilitate Qi and Xue (Blood) flow
indications: anorexic children with chronic indigestion; childhood nutritional impairment; infantile indigestion; intestinal parasites, esp. roundworms; pertussis; finger pain due to arthritis
needle technique: prick to bleed, squeeze until a yellowish fluid appears and resolves to a clear fluid; will still be effective if there is no yellow fluid coming out (Maciocia, p. 474)
combinations:
» with PC-6 and LI-4 for pertussis (Shanghai, p. 256);
» with Lu-11 and St-36 for infantile indigestion.
