location: With a loose fist formed, on the ulnar aspect of the little finger, just proximal to the head of the 5th metacarpophalangeal joint, at the juncture of the red and white skin.
actions: opens the Orifices; consolidates the Surface and stops sweating (-); induces sweating (+); pacifies the Shen and clears the Mind; opens the Du Mai (Governing Vessel) and regulates the Yang Qiao Mai (Yang Motility Vessel); treats pituitary imbalance, using location reactive to palpation, often ca. needle technique: with fist clenched, perpendicular insertion, 0.3 - 0.5 cun, along the metacarpus in a medial direction, producing a local sensation of distension and numbness, sometimes extending down the little finger
moxa: 1 - 3 cones of direct moxa; 5 - 10 minutes of indirect moxa with a pole
